23.06.2025

YEREVAN, Armenia — The International Committee of the Red Cross delegation in Armenia and the American University of Armenia’s Master of Laws program are pleased to invite applications for participation in the 2025 Regional Summer School on International Humanitarian Law (IHL).

This long-established joint program provides a unique opportunity for participants from the region and beyond to enhance knowledge of IHL while expanding professional networks. The upcoming event will delve into the vital role of IHL in addressing the multitude of challenges arising from armed conflicts worldwide. It will also examine the intricate relationship between IHL and peace, highlighting the role of humanitarian organizations in this interplay.

This weeklong summer school on IHL is an intensive course designed not only for experienced lawyers with a background in international law, but also for academics and students seeking to deepen their understanding of the subject. Given the relatively short duration of the course, prospective participants are expected to have a basic knowledge of IHL principles and rules and be able to apply them.

In addition, the summer school invites applications from advanced students and professionals from governmental and non-governmental organizations who encounter tasks and challenges within the realm of international humanitarian law and its relevant applications.

Interested candidates are invited to submit their applications by July 5, 2025 (11:59 p.m. GMT). The results of the selection process will be communicated to all candidates by July 15, 2025.
